Built

Banah

and Yahuah Elohim built that which he had taken from the side of the man into a woman and brought her unto the man.

One of the most discomforting things about being a woman of “faith” is not understanding who and what we are. For years and years I have wondered “why did Yah (God) make me a woman? Society has made the woman and her counterpart view her differences as a negative. We hate everything about our make up. We hate the womb, we hate our subcutaneous fat, we hate our cycles, and ultimately everything that makes us woman, we despise. And the sad thing is that we are not alone. Our men are conditioned to amplify and degrade us for the very same reasons. I do not think that this is on purpose, but it has been done with purpose. When the meaning of a thing, and the culture of a people is stripped away we are left grasping for straws and defining things by someone else foreign to our “nature” and it spins us into self hate and confusion. For balance sake I will deviate slightly from the normal format of english and greek definitions and deal only in the hebrew. If you are not familiar with the language there is a chart at the top that can be downloaded for your keeping and referencing in the future.

When Yah created man and woman he created them EQUAL. Different purposes but EQUAL. The reason being is because Yah split his essence which in our finite world we refer to as (feminine and Masculine). Brother Yzu of IBRMath does a very good study on this portion. So I will post the link if you need to reference what I mean before you move forward.

When you study words and the hebrew language you will find that all things have significance. When Yah created man and woman he did two different yet complimentary things. He built woman and he formed man. There are two different english words here and there are also two different hebrew words. The word built is the hebrew word (banah) and the word formed is the hebrew word (yatzar). Today we are dealing with the woman and how she is built and how the holy language shows the purpose and “role” if you will of the woman. For balance sake I will challenge you to do your personal study on what the form and function of the man was in this particular context.

The word Banah is spelled with a Bet/ nun/ and a Hey. The first letter of the word in pictographically hebrew (oldest form of hebrew with pictures as its letters). looks like this

This is the floorplan of a nomadic tent. The women and children were on the enclosed side, and the man was present at the opening for protection. Likewise, it represents the life cycle of humanity and reproduction. The right side is the woman who houses the seed and the left side represents the man who through his seed continues the family. Hence having the one side that is open and the other side that is closed off.

The Bet also represents the womb. This can be seen by the entrance representing the vagina and the inside being the uterus where the child is formed. When the fullness of time is come the life that is formed in the safe place will come forth through the portal from whence it was brought in.

This is also a picture of the tabernacle and the holy of holies. The womb is also viewed as an altar where a sacrifice is laid and then that sacrifice is taken and multiplied to bless the family. Only a priest (a qualified one) was allowed into the holy of holies. The womb is veiled and the happenings on the inside are intimate between Yah and what is to come forth.

Indeed you created my inward parts;
you wove me in my mother’s womb
Psalm 139:13

Whew!!! I know that was a lot but there is a “foundation” that has to be laid before we can move forward.

What separatesthe hebrew language from every language on the planet is that each letter has a meaning that never changes. These meanings define the word as a wholewhen each letter isstrung together in order.

בנה Bet/Nun/Hey translates as “build” 340 times, “build up” 14 times, “builder” 10 times, “made” three times, “built again + 8735” twice, “repair” twice, “set up” twice, “have children + 8735” once, “obtain children + 8735” once, and “surely (inf. for emphasis)” once. 1 to build, rebuild, establish, cause to continue. 1a (Qal). 1a1 to build, rebuild. 1a2 to build a house (ie, establish a family).

When Yah created woman (Chawah/Eve) he created her with a purpose that would be perpetual. All the things that were carried out at creation were meant to depilate themselves the same way after their own kind forever. What is unique about the human andmore specially the woman is that she was created to do something much more than just reproduce. Animals and the vegetation do that and the are made and described with a different hebrew word. The word used for the “building” of the woman was unique to her. the word means that she she was create to house the see and to give birth to life. This is not just the seed of the man (children), but also the spiritual seed. She is where dreams and purpose are deposited. It is her job to take what the man gives her and to multiply it and yield it back to him 10, 100, 1000 fold. She is not just a place to create but she also serves as the mediator between the desire of the man and the product of that desire. It is only through her that man can bring forth the life (nun-seed) that he carries inside of his loins. She doesn't just stop at birth of the child but she is also supposed to take the children and raise them righteously, planting the seed of the word in their hearts and nurturing it so that when they are finally of age to be presented back to the Father and the community they raise up and call her blessed. The woman is continually open to the seed of truth, life, and prosperity in order to give back and bless her family and those around her. She is continually giving. It is only when you have the aleph (strong leader), the bet (house, womb), and the nun (seed, life) that you are able to see the foundation of the family.

If we reject any part of this or call any portion of the family less importance we ruin the foundation that Yah has created as a testimony to humanity. The Foundation of Torah is built on the chief cornerstone.

The woman plays the intricate role of providing a place for life to come forth, hence HaSatan deceiving her, causing her to corrupt the seed. But just because she was deceived once doesn't mean that she has to continue to live a life of separation. Yah has created a method to unifying His “image” (Gen. 1:27) back to Himself, but when the dual essence of male and female fail to be one (Echad), the seed suffers. The woman who operates in Torah performs as the mediator in the home. Her build is an intricate part of the system that has been set up. She runs righteous interference, and is a physical picture of the Ruach(Spirit). She is the joining wall and the safeguard for her family. In her role she is "understanding" personified, and the strong water (another lesson) or glue that holds together and houses everything. Seeing the importance of the roles, not based upon form but their necessary function, helps us identify who we are as women and our purpose for our homes. It is only in our proper function that we can resist satan and join our husbands in building a righteous example of family for the Kingdom!

Proverbs 14:1 (KJV)
Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

**Torah is the guide for the foundation of the home. When a woman deviates from the Word of Truth, and entertains the words of the adversary, the foundation of the home and its function is destroyed leads to the destruction of the family.

We are built to guard, protect, give life, and then place that life back in the hands of the Father to prove that we managed what we were trusted with.

If you are not building you are destroying…SELAH!

Truth

Emet/Amet

The way that words are defined have subconsciously shaped how we deal with life and those around us. When a word is ambiguously defined it leaves room for the interpretation of the individual, and the interjection of bias. When it comes to the definition of “truth”, there are more ideas about its meaning than we would even dare to entertain. Below we will look at the English definition, we will explore the Greek translation, and then finally we will conclude with the concrete Hebrew meaning of the word “Truth.”

Merriam Webster defines truth as :

: the truth
: the real facts about something
: the things that are true
: the quality or state of being true
: a statement or idea that is true or accepted as true

What we see above is a bunch of words added to the word “true”, while still never defining the word. We are still left with the question, what is truth? Is truth just what it means to me? Is truth something I can achieve on my own? While we are still without proper understanding or a concrete definition, lets move along.

In many Judeo-Christian churches the definition of truth is based upon statements made by new testament authors and the messiah. In the greek the word for truth is ἀλήθεια (alētheías). This word is in the feminine. The definition according to The Complete Word Study Dictionary is: true. Truth, reality; the unveiled reality lying at the basis of and agreeing with an appearance; the manifested, the veritable essence of matter. Even in the Greek language we still do not receive the revelation or the concrete understanding of what truth is and what it requires of the believe. Truth in the greek is still abstract and relative and gives no real “truth”.

Finally we will look at the hebrew word for truth. The hebrew word is what is underneath all of these words that we previously looked at. The hebrew thought and the culture is the driving force behind all of the translations of scripture and it is only when we understand the hebrew that we get to the action that “truth” compels.

In Hebrew the word truth is Emet/Amet. The word is spelled Alpeh/Mem/Tav (אמת). The numerical value for this word is 441 (see below). The word translates as “truth” 92 times, “true” 18 times, “truly” seven times, “right” three times, “faithfully” twice, “assured” once, “assuredly” once, “establishment” once, “faithful” once, “sure” once, and “verity” once. 1 firmness, faithfulness, truth. 1a sureness, reliability. 1b stability, continuance.

While that gives us a little more revelation, it is still not concrete. It is not until we look at the actual letters that make up the word that we get the meaning of truth. We find out that truth is not antiquated or fulfilled. We find that truth was, is, and is to come.

There are 22 letters in the hebrew alphabet (Aleph-Bet). The three letters that make up the word Emet are the beginning (א), middle (מ), and the end (ת) of the Hebrew alphabet. This means that TRUTH is all of scripture. Truth is not just the parts that we choose. Truth is not just what we want to accept but truth is all of scripture. If you take away the first letter of truth which represents Yah, then you have the word (met) which means death. There is no truth without Yah and there is no truth without ALL of scripture. The WORD is TRUTH!

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

Romans 1:25 (KJV)

Yahshua saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

John 14:6 (KJV)

Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

Psalm 119:160 (KJV)

Be cautious of those teachers, pastors, and prophets who tell you that you don't need all of scripture because a little bit of omission is awhole lot of a lie. Take the whole word and mold your life and your understanding to the truth. Take the language, culture, and context and make that a imperative part of your understanding. Leaving out any portion of truth is a fast way to place you right back into bondage to the sin and death that comes with misinformation and disobedience.

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 8:31-32 (KJV)

Some extra nuggets for the nerds!

I mentioned the numerical value of the word Emet as 441. This number is achieved by adding the numbers of all of the individual letters together (Hebrew letters are also numbers).

The sum of these numbers means:

firmness; certainty; faithfulness; truth; true heartedness.

Virtuous

Chayil

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
Mishlei (Proverbs)  31:10

When seeking to know what our “role” as women entails we are often directed to Proverbs 31. Men are told, just as solomon was, to seek this type of woman. While we can commonly agree on the desire for such a woman, we have a hard time defining just what kind of woman she was. According to the english dictionary, “virtuous” means having or showing high moral standards. Some of the synonyms are righteous, good, pure, saintly…etc. While all of these definitions are things that would be nice to have in a wife, this is not the Hebrew definition of the word “virtuous”. The definition of words are the driving force behind humanity and how we operate. By briefly looking at this word and how it has been defined we will see how abstract Greek thought has shaped our mind, and how even in the Hebrew culture these western definitions are being exercised to the detriment of our nation and its rebirth.

The definition of this word has shaped our minds into a Greco-Roman mold of a woman. Statues of goddesses that are to be seen and not heard, admired with no substance or input. The word “virtuous” is over used in Christendom in order to instruct young women on how to be virgins(which they should if they are not married), it also implies a demeanor of quiet and dainty appearance., but these definitions are merely interpretations based upon poor cultural context. While all of those things are great aspirations, they are not attainable because they are in the abstract, and abstract terms don't give instructions. It is only in the concrete definition of the Hebrew language that we are taught how to perform the admonitions in scripture.

The word virtuous in the hebrew is Chayil. This word is spelled with a חיל. This word is used 243 times; translated in most lexicons as:

“army” 56 times, “man of valour” 37 times, “host” 29 times, “forces” 14 times, “valiant” 13 times, “strength” 12 times, “riches” 11 times, “wealth” 10 times, “power” nine times, “substance” eight times, “might” six times, “strong” five times, and translated miscellaneously 33 times.

The basic meaning of this word is “strength” and what often follows strength in ancient culture is “might” (army), and “riches.” A virtuous woman was not a weak woman, but a strong woman. The women of the hebrew culture were strong and were known to be successful. It was slavery and oppression that made the strength of a Hebrewess to be a negative. In America thestigma that follows women of color is negative because it is against the mail dominant western culture. While there is no validation for disrespect and feminist messages of, “not needing a man”, the opposite doesn't rectify the situation of our community. Western culture was a “lordship” culture, while in Hebrew culture the only master and king was Yah and anyone in that position was intended to be a reflection of him and not a tyrant.

If the entire chapter of proverbs 31 is surveyed you will see all of these attributes of a virtuous woman laid out. She owned her own, she made deals, she had wealth, and she worked hard. All of her accomplishments allowed her to be praised by her husband and her children. It didn't make her insubordinate. It didn't make her a man hater. It showed that in her role and with a proper understanding of her function (by everyone around her) she could be a great benefit to her husband and family. Below are two examples of verse that are translated with the word Chayil:

And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.

Numbers 24:18

But thou shalt remember YHWH thy Elohim: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

Deuteronomy 8:18

And Yahusha, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes? Matthew 5:30

Now that we see the virtuous woman as a strong woman we must edify ourselves on how to handle this type of “strength”. Being a strong woman doesn't put us over the man, but it make the woman a fortress and a strong inner wall for her Ish (man) and their family. She should be impenetrable to the forces of Satan that seek to divide and take the life out of her home. She is his refuge, and she is the one who enables him to succeed and hold his head high in the gate (Proverbs 31:23). After discovering strength we have to understand that our influence can build or be to the detriment of our homes. With strength comes power, and that power must be under control. The control of the power is not the man, but it is Yah and His Torah. Submitting to Yah makes a strong woman submissive. Submitting to Yah makes a strong woman meek and humble and of few words. Submitting to Yah gives a strong woman a guide to where and how to use her “strength”. A woman of Yah should concentrate her strength on building and generating wealth, resources, and legacy through obedience to Torah. A strong woman lives in the blessings of Yah, and HE will add great wealth as HE swore to the Patriarchs of this faith.

But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
